On the 18th of July 2019 the Literacy4life foundation launched a literacy hub at Bula Tsela Primary School in Sebokeng , Gauteng. The team came together in celebration of Mandela day. On that day the team managed to turn a classroom into a literacy hub with bookshelves filled with donated books.

Before the visit of the foundation, Bula Tsela had no library and solely relied on classroom textbooks to inspire learners to read more and enhance their literacy skills. This is a common trend in South African schools.

With the support from Literacy4life, learners are now more aware of the importance of literacy in everyday life. The foundation believes in Nelson Mandela’s saying that “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world” and hopes that learners of Bula Tsela Primary school will positively influence the future of South Africa through reading books.
